Before Union
Ortiz prepped at Forth Worth Christian where she played three years of softball. She was named team captain and offensive most valuable player. Off the field, she was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal
Born January 15th...daughter of Luis and Susan Ortiz...majoring in elementary education. Her father, Luis, played baseball at Union, and holds numerous records. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1991.
