Before Union
Karns prepped at Noblesville (Ind.) High School where she played volleyball and lacrosse for four seasons each. She helped lead her AAU team to a fifth place finish in the AAU National Open Division. Karns was also named Most Improved on her volleyball team and Best Defender in lacrosse. As a senior, she played nine matches where she registered three or more blocks, posting a season highs with six blocks and nine kills in the same match. She helped lead Noblesville to the Indiana State Tournament Section 8 Championship.
