Before Union
Donelson prepped at Hamilton (Ill.) County High School where he ran cross country and track, and also played baseball for four seasons. In cross country, he was twice named MVP and was first team All-South Illinois and all-conference as a senior. Donelson finished in the top five in 11 of this team's 13 meets as a senior. In baseball, he played in the all-star game as a junior. In the classroom, Donelson was named to the high honor roll all four years and was selected as an Illinois Scholar. He is the son of Leslie and Krystal Donelson.
