Before Union
Jakeman prepped at Canyon (Calif.) High School where she ran cross country and track and field all four years. She helped lead her teams to CIF cross country finalist finishes in 2011 and 2012. Jakesman's teams also advanced to the CIF track preliminaries in 2013 in the 100 and 300 hurdles, while finishing as a finalist in the 4x400 relay. Jakeman was named the Most Valuable Runner in 2010 in cross country, was a CIF cross country finalist in 2011 and 2012, and was a CIF track finalist in 2013. Jakeman was a member of the National Honors Society and finished in the top-10 percent of her graduating class.
