Biography

Before Union
Allen transferred to Union from the University of Memphis where he played one season. He earned a spot in the Tiger 3.0 Club. Prior to Memphis, Allen spent two seasons at Walters State Community College. While at Walters State, he helped lead his team to a district regular season title in 2011 and a district tournament title in 2010. Both seasons, Walters State was ranked No. 1 in the nation. He batted .500 in two seasons of district tournament play. Allen prepped at John Overton (Tenn.) High School where he played four seasons of baseball. His team earned four district titles and three sub-state appearances. Allen was named all-district as a senior while hitting .460. He posted a career batting average of .350 and earned the Stephen Langston Scholarship. Allen played summer ball for the Nashville Yankees, with two Sandlot Woodbat league appearances and the Eastcobb Triple Crown World Series. His summer league team was ranked No. 1 from 2006-10 by the Sandlot Supper League. Allen was named MVP of the Sandlot Woodbat 16 & under World Series at the age of 14.
