Before Union
Carneal transferred to Union from the University of Tennessee Martin where she played her freshman season. She hit .273 with a double and two RBI in 10 starts for the Skyhawks. Carneal prepped at South Gibson High School for one season and University School of Jackson. In high school, she played four years of softball, three years of basketball, and two years of volleyball. Before South Gibson, she played at the University School of Jackson. As a junior, she hit .582 with seven doubles, three triples, 20 RBI, and stole 23 bases. She was named All-West Tennessee and was named TSSAA All-State.
