Before Union
Waring transferred to Union after playing a semester with the baseball team at Mississippi State University. Before MSU, he spent two seasons playing baseball for Hinds (Miss.) Community College. Waring helped lead the Hinds Eagles to the 2011 Mississippi JUCO State title and a region runner-up. He was named all-state in 2011 with a .360 batting average. Waring prepped at St. Aloysius High School where he starred as a baseball, football, and basketball player. He led his high school team to back-to-back state titles in 2009 and 2010. Waring was named team MVP twice and all-state three times in high school. He also earned spots on the 2010 all-star team and the helped win the 2010 State Games title. In high school, Waring posted 200 career hits, 10 homeruns, and also hit for the cycle in a state tournament game. Waring is the son of Howard and Belynda Waring.
