Before Union
Dudley prepped at Caruthersville High School where he played four years of baseball. He also played five seasons for the River City Redbirds, two seasons for the Missouri Bulls, and one season for the Charleston Fighting Squirrels. Dudley helped lead his club teams to several district titles, a region third place finish, and two state titles. While in high school, Dudley earned pitcher of the year, scholar athlete of the year, Tiger Pride Award, and Coaches Award. He was also first team all-conference and honorable mentioned all-district. As a junior in high school, he posted a 2.60 ERA. He had a 1.80 ERA and posted a .440 batting average as a senior. Off the field, Dudley earned numerous awards and was a member of several clubs and organizations, including but not limited to, class Valedictorian, attended Missouri Boys State, honor roll, Principals's Honor List, National Honors Society, class president, student body vice president, ranked first in class all four years, earned Top GPA Award six different subjects.
