Before Union
Maxwell transferred to Union from Jackson State Community College where he played two years of baseball. He was named the JSCC Most Outstanding Athlete of the Year for all male athletes and had the highest GPA among all male athletes. Was named to the honor roll both years and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Maxwell prepped at Houston High School where he played four years of baseball. He helped lead his team to the 2016 district and region titles. His teams also claimed the 2015 region and sectional titles. Off the field, Maxwell was named to the honor roll all four years.
