Before Union
Nelson transferred to Union from the University of Dallas where she played two years of soccer. She was named All-SCAC second team in 2014 and was also voted conference player of the week once. She was named to the Dean's List and was a member of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honors Society. Nelson prepped at Sacred Heart of Jesus High School where she played four years of soccer and four years of tennis. She also played nine years of club soccer for the Jackson Futbol Club. She helped lead her teams to the JFC Division II State Title and a TSSSAA region title in 2012. In soccer, Nelson was named all-district three times, first team All-West Tenn, district tournament MVP, and all-district tournament. In tennis, Nelson was named all-district twice, all-district tournament, district singles champion, TSSAA singles semifinalist, and was named the Jackson Sun's Female Tennis Player of the Year. Off the field, Nelson was a member of the National Honors Society and Beta Club.
