Before Union
Butler transferred to Union from Kishwaukee Community College where he played two years of basketball. He was named the NJCAA National Player of the Week twice, first team all-conference, and three time region player of the week. Butler posted a career high 35 points to go along with 10 assists and 12 rebounds in his second of two triple doubles as a sophomore. He led his team to a No. 15 national ranking. Butler prepped at Lincoln Park High School where he played four years of basketball. In 2014, Butler was named a Chicago Public League All-Star, Chicago Hoops Classic All-Star, first team All-Chicago, first team all-conference, and all-area honorable mentioned.
