BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Gulf South Conference named Union's Freddie Westfall was named GSC Defender of the Week. This award encompasses competition from September 14-20. 

This award is the first GSC Defender of the week  honor claimed by Union men's soccer since Jamie Chamberlain was named Defensive Player of the Week on September 10th, 2024.

Westfall, the frosh center back from Keighley, England, anchored the Bulldog backline, only allowing one goal against 34 shots faced. He also added offensive pressure, assisting the game winning goal against Delta State. His presence and consistency was instrumental in Union's two wins this past week.
