Andrew Westmoreland joins rare company in GSC Championship history with second round 66, Union rises to first place, settles in fourth at days end

DICKSON, Tenn. - The Union University men's golf team move up to fourth place after the second round of the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championship. The three round event is being played at the Greystone Golf Club and features nine teams with 45 golfers. 

Union at one point was at 8-under for the second round, vaulting the Bulldogs to sole possession of first place for a moment late in the second round. Union finished the round at 5-under, the third best score of the day. Nationally ranked No. 1 West Florida (-11) and No. 2 Lee (-9) keep the top two spots. Mississippi College (-3) stayed in third. The top four schools, including Union (-2) are the only four team in the field below par for the championship. 

Andrew Westmoreland shot a 66 in the second round to climb to 11th overall. His 66 is tied for the fifth best second round score in GSC Championship history. Westmoreland is at 1-under for the championship.

Lane Carr moved up to fourth place overall with a 3-under 69 in the second round. He is 3-under for the event. 

Trace Robinson dropped from second to 18th and is at 2-over for the championship. Matthew Westmoreland is in 23rd (+4), and Henry Ashley is in 31st (+8). 

Third round tee times will be posted on the championship central page as soon as they are determined.
