DICKSON, Tenn. - The Union University men's golf team is in fifth place after the first round of theÂ
2026 Gulf South Conference Championship. The three round event is being played at the Greystone Golf Club and features nine teams with 45 golfers.Â
Union posted a 3-over score in the first round, seven shots back of leader West Florida at 4-under. Mississippi College in second (-3) and Lee in third (-1) are the only other team under par. Valdosta State is fourth (+2), one shot ahead of Union.Â
Jackson native
Trace Robinson is in second place at 3-under par. He is three shots back of Mississippi College's Joa Iglesias at 6-under. Robinson posted two eagles in the round, one on the 12th and the other on the 18th. He added four birdies and five bogies in the round.Â
Lane Carr for Union is also in the top 10 in ninth place with a even-par round. He posted three birdies, one bogie, and one double bogie, to go with his 13 pars.Â
Matthew Westmoreland is in 16th place (+1) with five birdies,
Andrew Westmoreland is 31st (+5), and
Henry Ashley is 38th (+7).Â
