LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Union University women's cross country team posted a 17th place finish in the Gold Race of the Greater Louisville Classic. The 5K event featured 24 teams with 240 runners.Â
Union's first year head coach,
Tristan Kelly said, "The girls really showed their quality today. Even in the thick of training, they put in an outstanding performance against very good teams. Top performances all around, but particularly
Ryan Harter and
Sophie Crisler. Both have came into the program and progressed really well over the last few years. The most exciting thing is that it is only the beginning for some of these athletes."
Addi Aguayo finished sixth overall with a time of 17:25, which set a new school record in the 5K. She now holds the top three times in program history and four of the top five.
Victoria Markham finished 29th with a time of 18:14, which was good enough for 13th best at Union in the 5K. Markham holds five of the program's best 18 times.Â
The Union team posted a 17th place finish with a total time of 1:34:30. That was the third best time in team 5K history.
