JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University women's golf team is in second place after two rounds in day one of the University of Montevallo Invitational. The 8-team event is being played at the Timberline Golf Club in Calera, Alabama.
Brooklyn Verdugo is leading the way after two rounds with a first round 73 and second round 75. She has a slim one shot lead over Polly McCrackin of Montevallo going into the final round.
Macy Bromley (6th) and
Abigail Fernandez (9th) are also in the top 10 heading in the final round Tuesday.
Union is in second place as a team, seven shots back of leader Montevallo. Union shot a 305 along with Montevallo in the first round. Then Montevallo (300) separated from Union (307) in the second round.
The final round will be played Tuesday.
