BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- This morning the GSC named Aaron Fynaardt the GSC Runner of the Week for the week of September 15-22. This is Fynaardt's second award of the season following the Rhodes College Invitational.

He earned himself the runner up spot, only second to a D1 runner from Memphis. Fynaardt finished the 8K event with a time of 25:01, the seventh best 8K time in program history.

Fynaardt led the Bulldogs to a third-place finish, behind D1 programs Arkansas State and Memphis. He has now recorded back-to-back runner-up finishes to open the season, continuing to set the pace for Union's men's cross-country squad.

Up next for Union will be the Chili Pepper Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas, October 4th in Fayetteville, Arkansas at Agri Park.
