Gray Campbell qualified as an individual for the 2025 NCAA D2 Men's Golf South/Southeast Regional.

Gray Campbell finished round one of the 2025 NCAA D2 Men's Golf National Championship, South/Southeast Regional. Campbell posted a first-round 74 (+2), putting him in a tie for 50th place. The 3-round event is being played at Mission Inn Resort - El Campeon and includes 107 golfers.
Campbell qualified as an individual for the regional after finishing the season ranked 79th in the nation and 20th in the South Region. He has a season scoring average of 71.5 in 25 rounds with two top-3 finishes. Campbell set a Union record this season with 106 rounds played in his career currently, breaking the old record of 102 by Union Hall of Fame golfer, Brett Barry.
This year is Campbell's second trip to the NCAA D2 Men's Golf Regionals after helping lead Union's team to the 2023-24 nationals for the first team since joining Division II. Union has two previous individual qualifiers in 2022 and 2023.
Thursday's round of 74 for Campbell marks his best round in the regional rounds. Last season, Campbell shot 78, 75, 75 in his three rounds.
The senior finished the front nine at 3-over par, earning five pars and a birdie. However, he rebounded nicely on the back nine. Campbell pared 10-13, 15, and 17, while posting birdies on 14 and 16. He was as 2-under on the back nine before a bogey on the 18th hole put him at 74 (+2) for the round.
Campbell will play round two Friday and then round three Saturday with a chance to qualify for the national championship tournament.
