Gray Campbell posted a 13th place finish the 2025 NCAA D2 Men's Golf National Championship, South/Southeast Regional. Campbell shot a final round score of 1-under (71), jumping two spots to his final finish of 13th. The 3-round event was played at Mission Inn Resort - El Campeon and includes 107 golfers.
Campbell shot a 74 (2-over) in the first round Thursday, good for 50th place. He stormed up the leader board in the second round with a 3-under (69) to get to 15th place. He finished with a 1-under round in Saturday's final, finishing in 13th. He missed making the nationals by five spots, ending as the seventh highest individual not on one of the teams. He needed to be among the top-2.
The 13th place finish marked the best finish for Gray in this two years of participating in the NCAA D2 Men's Golf Regional (82nd in 2024). His score of 69 in the second round was his best round in six combined rounds over two years in the regional tournament. It also was the ninth best score in the 2025 field in the second round.
Round three for Campbell started with a 1-over on the front nine, bogeying holes four and five, before a birdie on the eighth hole. He also had six pars. On the back nine, Campbell made a run with birdies on holes 14 and 15 to go along with seven pars.
In the 72-holes this week, Campbell posted 10 birdies and finished with a 2-under score of 214 over three rounds. He was one of only 23 players out of 107 total to finish the event under par.
