BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Carter Daniel has been awarded his second and Union baseball's fourth Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week award, the league office announced Tuesday.

Daniel allowed three earned runs in a five-inning outing in Union's 15-10 game-two win over Montevallo last Saturday. The right-hander from Killen, Ala., allowed seven hits and struck out two in the no-decision.

Union has claimed three of the last four Freshman of the Week awards. Hudson Cepparulo got the nod on April 15 and February 4, and Daniel's first recognition came on April 1.

Union (20-27, 14-15), riding a streak of four GSC series wins, will conclude the 2025 regular season against Christian Brothers with a single game on Friday (6:00 p.m.) and a Saturday doubleheader (1:00 p.m.)
