BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The GSC named Elizabeth Gilbert Freshman of the Week for competition from October 13-19.

This award follows the Lady Bulldogs back-to-back wins this weekend against West Alabama and Mississippi College.

Gilbert had an impressive showing, with a total of 37 kills, 27 digs, 6 aces and 7 blocks.

More specifically, this weekend she earned her second career double-double in Union's first GSC win over UWA. She tied her season high of 16 kills and posted a new season high of 14 digs.

The next day, she posted 10 kills and 8 digs against Mississippi College. Gilbert continues to be a key contributor for the Lady Bulldogs, showcasing consistency and composure in her debut season.

The Lady Bulldogs get back to action tonight (10/21) against Lee in the Fred Delay Gymnasium. Fans can enjoy free admission thanks the generosity of FirstBank.
