Aguayo takes first place with record performance, Union women's cross country second at Watson Classic

CLINTON, Miss. - The Union University women's cross country team posted a runner-up finish at the 2025 Watson Collegiate Cross Country Classic hosted by Mississippi College. The 6K event took place at the Choctaw Trails and featured 19 teams and 168 runners. 

Addi Aguayo posted a record-setting performance and finished in first place with a time of 21:27. She bested her teammate Ayla Young Cook's previous program 6K time of 22:05 set back in 2023. 

Victoria Markham finished in fourth place with a time of 22:09, putting her in the third spot in Union's program history for a 6K meet. 

The Union's team time of 1:56:32 was the third-best in program history. 

Young finished in 15th place with a time of 23:09, Ryan Harter 48th, and Clara Zinn 50th to round out Union's top five runners. 

Heidi Munday finished 78th, and Sophie Crisler finished 102nd. 

Up next for Union will be the 2025 Gulf South Conference Women's Cross Country Championship, October 25 at 8:00 a.m. at Shelby Farms in Memphis, Tennessee.
