Gray Campbell (-1),
Trace Robinson (E) and
Kip Patterson (E), all with scores among the top five in the field, lead second-place Union after one round at Montevallo's Full Moon Invitational.
Union, with a four-man score of 286 (71.5 average) sits nine strokes back of leader Montevallo and four better than third-place Christian Brothers.
Gray Campbell used 14 pars, a birdie, and a par-five three – one of just two eagles on the day – to finish a degree below par and in a solo fourth place.
Right behind him, at T-5,
Trace Robinson and
Kip Patterson both posted five birdies on the way to their rounds of 71.
Timothy Pinkston (+3, 74) and
Andrew Westmoreland (+6, 77) rounded out the Union scorecard on day one.
Others in the field include Trevecca Nazarene (294), Spring Hill (294), Arkansas-Monticello (296), Montevallo B (302) and Miles (312).
