NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tonight, the Union University women's volleyball team will take on six-seed, Trevecca Nazarene University at 6:00 p.m. in Nashville, Tenn., in the first round of the Gulf South Conference Championships. This is Union's third time making the GSC Championships in the past four years and Coach
Kristen Blackburn's first as the head coach. Union is the seven-seed and enters the tournament with a 10-19 overall record.
"I'm really excited about making it to the postseason and our first match being against Trevecca," said Coach Blackburn.
The two teams have faced off twice this season in conference play with both matches going to four sets.
Blackburn expressed that the seniors played a key role in getting to this point.
"About halfway through the season, our seniors put an emphasis on how important it is to turn our season around to make it to this point," Blackburn said.
The Lady Bulldogs fought hard to earn their 7-seed berth, and Coach Blackburn said she is "excited to see all that they can accomplish."
