No. 6/16 Lady Bulldogs winners of three straight following 90-69 win over AUM

JACKSON, Tenn. - No. 6/16 Lady Bulldogs win their third consecutive game with a 90-69 win over Auburn University at Montgomery. Union's record improves to 13-1 overall (7-1 GSC) while Auburn Montgomery's record drops to 7-6 overall (5-4 GSC).

Lauren West scored a career-high in points with 29 points, 19 points coming in the first half. West shot 11-19 from the field (57.9%) and 7-14 from beyond the arc (50%). West's 19 first-half points featured five three-pointers. Macey Lee led all players with nine rebounds. Jazalyn Anousinh tallied a game-high of seven assists. Five different Lady Bulldogs recorded two steals.

Brooke Hampel, Macey Lee, and Olivia Lee all recorded double-digit points helping lead the Bulldogs to their seventh conference victory. The Lady Bulldogs had a 35.2% field goal percentage and a 31.4% three-point percentage. Union out-rebounded the Warhawks 51-48 and collected nine more assists than their opposition (24-15). The Lady Bulldogs were able to force 25 turnovers, resulting in 26 points off turnovers. 

Coach Campbell's thoughts on the road trip: "It is always nice going on the road and winning games. We have a long way to go in a lot of different ways. Each game givs us a clearer picture of the things we need to work on. These two games will help us to get better."

Auburn Montgomery was led offensively by Jamya Tyus, who collected 20 points off of 10-14 shooting (71.4%). Tyus also shared the lead in the assists category for the Warhawks with five. 

Up next for the Lady Bulldogs is their first meeting with the University of West Alabama on January 6th. Union has won the previous four meetings versus West Alabama, most recently being a 60-34 win on January 24th of last year. This game will tip-off at 2:00 p.m. at the Fred DeLay Gymnasium. General Admission will be free courtesy of FirstBank.
