Union men's cross country take 12th at Memphis Twilight

MEMPHIS - The Union University men's cross country team posted a 12th place finish at the City Auto Memphis Twilight Cross Country Classic. The event took place at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex on the campus of the University of Memphis and featured 20 teams and 190 runners. 

Union finished 12th in the race and was the fourth highest finishing NCAA D2 school behind Ouachita Baptist in sixth, Harding eighth, and Christian Brothers 11th. Alabama won the event with Memphis Unattached second, Middle Tennessee State third, Memphis fourth, and UT Martin fifth. 

Ryan Keeton led Union with a 48th place finish and a time of 21:26 in the 4-mile race. Middle Tennessee's Habtamu Geta won the race with a 19:24. Union freshman Stewart Brown finished 60th (21:42), Tristen Kelly 71st (21:56), Micah Winn 77th (22:06), Benjamin Blackwood 91st (22:20), Luke Winkleman 100th (22:32), Caleb Cook 109th (22:46), Riley Garrison 149th (24:23), and Kayden Patterson 163rd (25:13). 

Up next for Union is a return trip to the city of Memphis, this time for a race at Shelby Farms for the Rhodes College Invitational, September 17 at 8 a.m.
