NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Union University's
Tylandrius Parks was named Tennessee Sports Writers Association's Men's Basketball Player of the Week. This week Parks scored a combined 61 points in two games and had 13 rebounds. He tied his career high later in the week against Valdosta State with a 33 point performance. This is Parks third TSWA weekly award and fifth for Union this season (Parks three times, Nguidjol twice).
The Pocahontas, Tenn., native shot 19-30 from the field and 5-12 from the 3-point line. He also went 18-20 from the charity stripe. Parks is currently averaging 19.4 points per game which is tied for second in the conference.
Up next for Union is a road matchup verses the Warhawks of Auburn Montgomery. This game is set to take place Thursday, February 9 at 8 p.m.
