UAH rallies past Union men's soccer, 3-1

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Union University men's soccer lost 3-1 at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Union dropped to 3-7-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the Gulf South Conference. Alabama Huntsville improved to 1-7-2 on the season and 1-4-1 in league play. 
Union scored first in the 15th minute on a goal by Stan De Vries, assisted by Ostian Bowen. Union made that goal hold up for a 1-0 halftime lead. However, UAH scored three goals in just over 20 minutes of play in the second half. The Chargers tied the match in the 54th minute on a penalty kick. Then again in the 64th minute with the game winning goal followed by the final goal in the 75th minute. 
UAH out shot Union 17-14 overall and 11-4 in shots on goal. UAH also led in corner kicks 6-3, while both teams committed 11 fouls. 
Ostian led Union with four shots, while De Vries added three shots. Botond Nemeth recorded eight saves in his 90 minutes in goal. 
Up next for Union is a 3:30 p.m. match at West Alabama October 3.
