MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Union University men's soccer team lost to Auburn Montgomery on the road 3-1. With this loss, Union falls to 3-4 overall on the season and 1-2 in the Gulf South Conference. AUM improves to 2-2-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the GSC.
Early in the game in the eighth minute AUM's Phillip Spickenbaum found the net which put the Warhawks up 1-0. Later in the first half, in the 32 minute the Warhawks scored another which increased their lead to 2-0 going into the half. Union's
Alpay Altuntas struck first in the second half in the 51st minute which chipped away at the lead. Spickenbaum of AUM scored his second goal of the night in the 61st minute which put AUM on top 3-1.
Union was outshot 16-6 overall and 7-2 in shots on goal. Corners were in AUM's favor 7-2 and Union led in fouls 17-14.

Botond Nemeth played all 90 minutes and recorded four saves.
Up next for Union is a conference matchup on the road as they take on the Falcons of the University of Montevallo. This match will take place Sunday, September 18 at 3:30 p.m.
