JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University softball team lost to Lee University 11-2 in the final game of the three game series. Union won the two games Saturday to take the Gulf South Conference opening series. Union moved to 4-7 overall and 2-1 in league play. Lee is now 5-7 on the season and 1-2 in the GSC.
Lee scored four runs in the first and one in the second to take a big early lead. Union got two runs in the second.
Fallon Groves singled to start the inning and then with two outs,
Idalia Alarcon homered down the left field line. That was Union's only scoring of the day. Lee added six runs in the sixth.
Alyssa Ward led Union with two of the teams five hits.
