BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference announced its 2022 Volleyball Postseason Awards and Union University had three players make the list.
Emily Grace Calhoon and
Jordan Vick were named first-team All-GSC, while
Sydney Sample was named second team All-GSC.

Both Calhoon and Vick received post season awards last year as Calhoon was named first-team All-GSC and Vick was named second team All-GSC. This is Sample's first post season award.

Calhoon, a 6-foot-1 senior outside hitter/middle blocker from Jonesboro, Ark., is first on Union's team with 299 kills (2.85 kills/set) and is second on the team in hitting percentage hitting .310. She has also recorded 59 total blocks and 38 digs. She has played in all 105 sets for Union this season.

Vick, a 5-foot-8 senior setter from Camden, Tenn., has 944 assists (8.99 assists/set) she is second on the team in digs with 280 and tied for second on the team in service aces with 38. She has also recorded 117 kills and 59 total blocks from the setter position. She has played in all 105 sets for Union this season.

Sample a 5-foot-4 senior defensive specialist/libero from Jonesboro, Ark., is first on the team in digs with 417 (3.97 digs/set), and first on the team in service aces with 42. She has also recorded 63 assists and 10 kills from the libero position. She has played in all 105 sets for Union this season.

The all-conference senior trio led union to a 21-9 regular season record and an 14-2 GSC record. Union earned the No. 2 seed in this week's GSC Championships, the highest seed for Union since joining the GSC in 2012.

Union earned a double bye in the conference tournament and will face the winner of Mississippi College/Auburn Montgomery in the Semifinals. This match is set to take place Saturday, November 12 at 1:30 p.m.
