No. 10 Union men’s soccer remains undefeated after a 0-0 tie with Lincoln Memorial

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University men's soccer team winning streak came to an end Saturday but remain undefeated after a 0-0 tie at Lincoln Memorial University. Union, ranked No. 10 in the national rankings, moved to 3-0-1 on the year while Lincoln Memorial moves to 1-2-1.

Union's defense played a huge part in the match especially in the second half. The Bulldogs only allowed one shot in the entire second half. Goalkeeper Botond Nemeth recorded five saves in the match.

The Bulldogs outshot Lincoln Memorial 23-10, with nine shots on goal. William Valencia led the Bulldogs with five shots, three of those were on goal. Kenny Nitzsche and Gavin Scott both recorded four shots, James Jackson, Mats Fredriksen, and David Hurtado all had multi-shot performances in the match.

Up next for Union is its first conference match as they travel down to Cleveland, Tenn. to take on the Flames of Lee University, Friday, September 17th at 4:00 p.m.
