Union men top Williams Baptist in offensive outburst, 101-69

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University men's basketball team posted a 101-69 win over Williams Baptist University Tuesday Night at Fred DeLay Gymnasium/David Blackstock Court. Union improved to 3-0 on the season, while Williams Baptist fell to 3-1 overall. The first eight minutes of the game were closely played with four lead changes. Neither team shot well early. Union took a 16-13 lead with 11:12 left in the half on a 3-pointer from Justin Debuck. Union never trailed in the game again. Union hit 15-of-27 shots for 56 percent including seven 3-pointers, taking a 49-31 lead into the break. 
Union continued the hot shooting in the second half, hitting 57 percent from the field and 44 percent (7-16) from 3-point range. Union's largest lead of the game was 40 points, 94-54, late in the game. 
Eleven Union players scored in the game, including five with double figures. Hunter Vick led with 20 points, while Tyree Boyking added 19 points. Tylandrius Parks scored 16 points, Justin Debuck added 12, and JC Hawkins scored 12 points. Hawkins was 4-for-4 from 3-point range. Union finished the game shooting 56 percent from the field, 47 percent (14-30) from long range, and 60 percent (15-25) from the free-throw line. 
Williams Baptist was led by King with 17, McIntosh with 12, and Butters 10 points. The Eagles shot 43 percent from the field, 39 percent (5-13) from long range, and 67 percent (20-30) from the free-throw line.  Up next for Union is a trip to Dahlonega, Georgia to take on the University of North Georgia Friday night and Georgia Southwestern State University Saturday afternoon.  -UNION-
