Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Union University women's soccer team posted a 2-1 victory at Auburn University in Montgomery Saturday afternoon. Union improved to 3-13 overall and 2-11 in the Gulf South Conference. Auburn Montgomery dropped to 1-16-1 on the season and 1-11-1 in league play.
Union scored first with a goal by
Madison Wirth in the 15th minute of play, assisted by
Tiffany Linser. Union led 1-0 at the half. Union edged AUM 4-3 in first-half shots.
Just over two minutes into the second half, AUM tied the match with a goal from Ruby Mendez, assisted by Milian Mollison. Then in the 62nd minute, Union got the game-winner from
Iris Seamster, assisted by
Taylor Knight. Union dominated the shots in the second half, 11-3.
Union outshot AUM 15-6 in the game, including 5-3 in shots on goal.
Rylee Iorio played a scoreless first half in goal for Union with one save.
Anna Venckus recorded one save in the second 45 minutes in goal for Union, allowing one goal.
