Union men drop exhibition at Louisiana Tech

RUSTON, La. – The Union University men's basketball team fell 103-58 at Louisiana Tech University Thursday evening in an exhibition game. Union will play one more exhibition game, Saturday at home versus Freed-Hardeman at 2 p.m. for Homecoming.
 
The Bulldogs found themselves down just 15 points at the half, 52-37. LaTech led by as many as 25 points in the first half, 36-11 at the 10:10 mark. Union rallied to cut the deficit to 15 over the final 10 minutes. Tyree Boykin had 17 points at the half including 5-of-7 from 3-point range in the first 20 minutes.
 
In the second half, Union was not able to keep up the pace as the home Bulldogs pulled away and the final 45-point margin was the largest of the contest.
 
Union was led by Boykin, finishing with 21 points and five 3-pointers. Tylandrius Parks added 12 points. Union shot 31 percent from the field, 38 percent (8-21) from long range, and 74 percent (14-19) from the free throw line.
 
LaTech was led by Amorie Archibald and Rashawn Langston with 19 points each. Five players scored in double figures for the Bulldogs. LaTech shot 60 percent from the field, 41 percent from 3-point range, and 76 percent (16-21) from the free throw line. LaTech outrebounded Union 49-24.
