JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union volleyball was defeated by Lee University 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-21, 25-18) Saturday afternoon. The Lady Bulldogs are now 9-6 overall and 0-3 in the Gulf South Conference. The Lady Flames moved to 7-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
The Lady Bulldogs lost the first set 25-18 after Lee controlled most of the set. Union controlled most of the second set, including a 6-0 run giving them the 25-23 win. In the third set, Union jumped up 7-1 but Lee rallied back to even the score at 10-10. Lee stayed hot and extended their lead to as many as five points before taking the set, 25-21. In the fourth set, Union never lead as Lee pulled away, 25-18 win.
Christa Karns lead Union with 11 kills and
Ceciley Blanchard was next with 10.
Taylor Chiaro had had 21 digs for the Lady Bulldogs and
Bre Carlton had 33 assists.
Kristen Goggin had three aces and
Abbie Rahn had two for Union.
Next up for Union is Mississippi College, Tuesday, September 13 at 6:00 p.m.
