CLINTON, Miss. - The Union University volleyball team won their last game of the season against Mississippi College 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-23) Thursday night.
The first set was led by Union. Though MC scored the first point of the set, Union responded with five straight. Union went on another 4-0 run when MC responded with their own 5-0 run. Mississippi College would have another 4-0 run but Union took the set, 25-18.
Mississippi College scored the first two points of the second set and kept the lead at 3-6. Union caught up with a 4-0 run but proceeded to swap points the rest of the match. Union scored the last three points to win the set 25-23.
In the final set MC scored five straight points. Union finally scored and the teams began to swap points. Union slowly chipped away at Mississippi College's lead until tying it at 20. The two teams swapped points until Union scored the last two winning the match.
Union was led by
Ceciley Blanchard with 12 kills and
Christa Karns with nine.
Bre Carlton had 36 assists and 16 digs.
Taylor Chiaro had 18 digs.
