MELBOURNE-Fla.- The Union University men's soccer team fell in their first regular season match of the 2016 campaign at Florida Tech Friday evening. The start time, originally slated for 7:30 EDT, was moved up two hours to avoid incoming weather to 5:30 EDT.
The Panthers got on the board late in the first half with a goal from Evan Enders in the 40th minute after dribbling past three Union defenders for the 1-0 lead. FIT scored their second goal in the 74th minute coming from Adin Kavara who was assisted by Sam Sawyer.
Union finished the match with four shots, including three on the goal with substitute
Cole Asfour accounting for two of the shots on goal.
Igor Luczensky earned five saves in the goal for the Bulldogs allowing only two goals.
Union continues their road stretch Saturday in the Sunshine State at Eckerd College on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The Bulldogs return home a week from then on Saturday, September 10th, to host Oakland City at 5:00 p.m.
