WHAT HAPPENED
- UK jumped out to an early lead going out 11-0 within the first four minutes of action with Makayla Epps scoring nine in the run.
- Sophomore Tiffany Rechis was the first player on the board for Union knocking down back-to-back threes to cut the Wildcat lead to just five before another nine point run from UK.
- After early foul trouble, newcomer Sara Lytle six straight for Union followed up by another three from Rechis in the opening minutes of the second quarter.
- The Lady Bulldogs could not erase the double digit lead in the closing minutes of the first half and went into the locker room down 49-32.
- Both teams struggled to score in the third quarter with a combined 19 points in the period.
- Recis opened up the fourth with a layup and a free throw for the and-one play to set the score at 63-41.
- The Lady Bulldogs narrowed the lead to 17 with help from a Bodiford layup followed by a three from the senior.
- Union cut the lead in the fourth quarter, but fell 78-60.
