JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University softball team posted an 8-3 win over Christian Brothers University Friday afternoon in the first of a 3-game series. The series will continue Saturday with a double-header starting at 1 p.m.
Union (21-14, 9-12 GSC) took control with four runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Summer Cross hit an RBI double, followed by a sacrifice bunt from
Reagan Schrader that scored a run. Union then got two more runs on a 2-run home run from
Carter Mansolino.
Union added two runs in the fourth on another hit from Cross, this time a 2-RBI single up the middle. After CBU cut the lead to 6-3, Union added two more runs in the six on a 2-RBI double from Schrader.

Kelly Robey (18-10) took a no hitter into the fifth. She allowed three runs on six hits with 13 strike outs.
