JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University softball team earned a double-header split versus No. 15 University of North Alabama Saturday afternoon at Fesmire Field. Union took the first game 2-1 and then fell 8-0 in six innings in the second game. Union moved to 18-10 on the season and 8-8 in the Gulf South Conference. In the first game, offense was at a premium with both pitchers tossing no-hit softball for the first four innings. Union's Kelly Robey (15-6)tossed five no-hit innings. Union struck first with their first hit in the bottom of the fourth. Reagan Schrader led off with a home run to give Union the lead and break up the no-hitter for Blevins (9-3) of North Alabama. Union got two more hits in the fifth inning but could not score. North Alabama got their first hit of the game when Nelson led off the sixth inning with a single. The score was 1-0 in favor of Union going into the top of the seventh. After two quick outs, Tittle of North Alabama hit a game-tying home run to left field for the Lions' second hit of the game. In the bottom of the seventh, Union responded. Emily Bennett led off with a walk and was moved to second on a sacrifice by Summer Cross. After Madison Tennyson was hit by a pitch and Schrader fouled out, Union's Carter Mansolino hit a sharp grounder to shortstop that was misplayed for an error. Tennyson, the runner at second, never stopped running and was able to score the winning run from second on the error. Union had three hits in the game from three separate players, with Schrader's home run serving as the only RBI. Robey had 10 strikeouts in the win, allowing just two hits in seven innings of work.

In the second game, Union got behind early as North Alabama flexed their offensive fire power with two runs in the second and four in the third. The Lions hit a pair of home runs in the game to spark their offense.
