MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Union University men's soccer team lost 1-0 at Christian Brothers University Friday night in the final regular season match of the season. With a win and a West Florida loss, Union would have advanced to their first Gulf South Conference Tournament. However, Union's season ended with a 5-10-1 record on the season and a 2-6-1 GSC record. Christian Brothers improved to 12-4-1 overall and 5-3-1 in the GSC. 

The lone goal of the match was scored by CBU's Brendan Bennett on a penalty kick goal in the 36th minute of play after a foul against Union in the box. Christian Brothers outshot Union 14-8 in the match, including 5-3 in the first half and 8-2 in shots on goal.  

Eight different players for Union recorded one shot each in the contest. Goalie Matt Kesler recorded seven saves in his 90 minutes of work.

Union finished eighth in the final GSC standings with the top six advancing to the tournament.
