JACKSON, Tenn.- The Union University men's basketball team fell to Delta State Saturday evening 68-58 dropping their Gulf South Conference record to 2-2 and their overall record to 8-2. Delta State improved to 3-1 in conference play and 6-4 overall.

The Bulldogs struggled shooting throughout the first half after breaking a record for 3-pointers in the first half of their previous game. Union only managed to shoot 34.4% from the field and only hit one 3-pointer in the half. Fortunately, Delta State also struggled shooting in the first half and only shot 37.9% from the field and missed all six shots from distance in the half. Union finished the low scoring half on top of the Statesmen 27-25.

The second half featured much of the same shooting from Union, but Delta State found their stride shooting 47.8% from the field. Both teams had shares of the lead throughout the first five minutes. Once Delta State gained the lead with 15:05 left in the half, they never looked back to go on to a 68-58 victory.

Union finished the game shooting 29.7% from the field and 64.0% from the free throw line while only going 4-29 from behind the arc.

The Bulldogs were led by
Marterrace Brock with 19 points and
Pedro Faller added 10.
Ashanti Day led Union with 11 rebounds.
Delta State was led by Allister Chisolm with 19 points, Devin Schmidt with 14 points and nine rebounds, and Jamal Hester with 12.
