CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Union University basketball teams dropped a double-header at Delta State University, both by three points. Union's women dropped back into a tie for first place with Delta State after a 49-46 loss. The Union men fell 59-56 in another close game.

The women trailed 23-16 at the half and trailed by as many as nine points in the game. Union was down by eight points with just under 15 minutes left in the game. Union then posted a 19-3 run to go from down eight to up by six points, 41-35, with nine minutes left. However, Delta State responded to regain the lead. Union trailed by one point with 28 seconds left but did not score on their final two possession. Union's Amber Rechis led the way with 26 points of Union's 46 total points.

The men's game was tied 29-29 at the half and Union led by as many as seven points early in the second half. The game was close throughout, featuring six ties and 17 lead changes. Union was led by Pedro Faller with 12 points and AJ Roberts with 10 points
