MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Union University men's basketball team lost 78-64 at Christian Brothers University Saturday afternoon. Union dropped to 3-9 on the season and 1-3 in the Gulf South Conference. Christian Brothers dropped to 8-3 overall and 3-0 in league play.
With 10 minutes left in the game, Union led Christian Bothers 52-51. However, the Bucs used a 16-3 run over the next five minutes to take a 12 point lead, 67-55. The Bucs led by as many as 14 points late in the game, including the 78-64 final.
Christian Brothers shot 64 percent from the field in the second half, including 50 percent (3-6) from behind the arc in the final 20 minutes.
Union led 2-0 to open the game, but Christian Brothers gained the lead early and held it for the rest of the first half. Union cut the deficit to one point twice, including 34-33 late in the first half. However, a layup by the Bucs at the buzzer set the halftime scored a 36-33.
In the second half, Union opened the half with a 7-0 run to take their largest lead of 40-36. Christian Brothers tied the game at 40-40. Union led by as many as two points three different times over the next several minutes, but was unable to pull away. Union's last lead was 52-51 following a 3-pointer from
Roy Bullock with 10 minutes left.

Corieon Pearson with 22 points, including three 3-pointers.
Roy Bullock added 17 points, while Dani Marti recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Bullock is averaging 18.7 points per game over his last three games. Union shot 37 percent from the field, 30 percent (7-23) from long range, and 79 percent (15-19) from the free throw line.
Michael Drake led four Buc players in double figures with 16 points. Harry Green and Drew Hildreth added 13 points each. Hildreth came off the bench and was 3-of-3 from behind the arc. Cory McArthy added 11 points and led with five assists. The Bucs shot 54 percent from the field, 40 percent (6-15) from long range, and 76 percent (16-21) from the free throw line.
Up next for Union will be another road conference game Saturday, January 12 at North Alabama at 3:00 p.m.
