Scott Sinclair is entering his third year as head coach. He was named the head coach for the women's soccer program at Union in March 2018. Sinclair served the previous four seasons as the assistant coach for the Union men's soccer program.
Sinclair has been coaching in the men’s soccer program at Union since 2011: three years as a volunteer coach, and four years as the assistant coach. He has been involved locally at the youth, middle and high school levels as a coach since 2008. Sinclair served as the head girls’ and boys’ middle school coach at Trinity Christian Academy, the head girls' coach at JCS High School, and Sacred Heart of Jesus High School.
A native of Alloa, Scotland, Sinclair came to Union in 2004 as a student and spent four seasons as a starter for the Union University men’s soccer program. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from Union University in 2009. In 2017, he furthered his education by earning his Masters of Arts in Education degree from Union.
The Scotsman is regarded as one of the area’s up-and-coming coaches at the youth and collegiate levels. Forever advancing in his trade, Sinclair has received numerous certifications. He has earned a United States Soccer Federation National ‘C’ License, and a Scottish F.A. National Youth License. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Sinclair has coaching experience at the club, collegiate, TN Olympic Development Program (ODP) US levels, and has also coached at the grass roots and Development Youth Academy team level in Scotland.
Prior to coming to Union, Sinclair distinguished himself on the field for two Scottish premier teams, playing six years at Stirling Albion F.C. and then later at Alloa A.F.C. He also had stints at the semi-professional levels in both Scotland and in England.
Scott is married to his wife Karen, who teaches in Union's Athletic Training Program. They have two children, Ava and Zeal.
