Before Union
VanPelt prepped at Arlington High School where she ran cross country for two seasons, track for three seasons, and played one year of soccer. She helped lead her team to the region cross country titles in 2018 and 2019. VanPelt was named Team Captain for hurdles in 2018 and was Team Captain in the fall of 2019 for cross country. Off the course, she finished Top-15 percent of class and was the president of princess for Princess for Patients for two years.
