Jennifer Farroll Shumway began her time at Union University in the fall of 2010 as an assistant professor in Union University’s Athletic Training and Sports Medicine programs. Farroll is a BOC certified athletic trainer.

During her time at Union, she worked several years as the athletic trainer for the women's basketball team. She is also on the Education Committee for the Tennessee Athletic Trainers' Society and is a site visitor for the CAATE.

Farroll is a native of Cantonment, Fla. where her parents Bob and Cathy Farrol still reside. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Sciences/Athletic Training in 2004 from the University of Central Florida. In 2006, Farroll received a Master’s of Science degree in Physical Education/Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina.

Farroll received numerous awards during her college career. She earned the SCATA Terry Lewis Memorial Scholarship (Grad school), UCF Outstanding Senior in Athletic Training, Delta Gamma Sorority (President). She was also a member of multiple honor societies including Golden Key, Phi Sigma Theta, Rho Lambda and the Order of Omega as well as various scholarships and honor rolls.  

Since graduating from college, Farroll has worked the USTA U-16 Boys Clay Court Nationals from 2008-2010 in South Florida, volunteered for the Walt Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon multiple times, as well as the Walt Disney World Roller blading Marathon. Farroll volunteered at the NBA Hoop it Up 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and has run four half marathons, three of which took place at Walt Disney World.

Farroll has been published three times, as well as, given oral and poster presentations at two national symposiums in athletic training and sports psychology. From 2006-2010, she served as the head athletic trainer and adjunct instructor at Palm Beach Atlantic (Fla.) University.  

Farroll enjoys volunteering and helping others with her talents. She is very passionate about volunteering with Athletes in Action during the summer months. Farroll has also spent multiple weeks during recent summers as a member of the AIA Colorado Project staff team in Fort Collins, Colo., serving as a athletic trainer, small group leader and prayer coordinator.

Shumway was married to her husband Jeff July 1, 2018.
