Before Union
Church transferred to Union from UNC Chapel Hill where she played three years of basketball. In her three years at UNC she led the team in three point percentage each year. As a freshmen she was top three in three point percentage in the ACC and sported a career 89 percent free-throw percentage. Some highlights were that she scored 19 points against Duke University her freshmen year, and she hit the game winning three pointer against No. 1 Notre Dame. Church was a three-time ACC Honor Roll member and was on the Deans List each semester. She was also member of Phi Beta Kappa. Church prepped at Forest Trail Academy where she scored over 2500 career points and made 337 total three pointers. She was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for winning the National Hoop Shoot free throw contest. Church made 32 three-pointers in one minute to break the previous world record (27), She was also recognized by ESPN for making 120 three-pointers in five minutes...she led her team to the Title IX Classic Championship...she was named All-Conference, MVP of Title IX Classic, and Team captain.
