NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Tennessee Sport Writer Association named
Cole Lannom TSWA Pitcher of the Week this morning as announced by the organization. The honor encompasses performances from March 23-29.
This follows a strong closing performance against No. 8 West Alabama and a win over Arkansas Tech.
Lannom posted a 1-0 mark with a save and a 0.00 ERA over 5.2 innings in two appearances, allowing just four hits while striking out seven for the Bulldogs. He worked two innings in a midweek contest against Arkansas Tech, allowing no earned runs on one hit with one strikeout, picking up a win.
He tossed 3.2 scoreless innings of relief versus eighth-ranked West Alabama to earn a save, giving up three hits with six strikeouts. Lannom is 4-4 with two saves in 12 appearances this season (one start), pitching 38.0 innings and allowing 32 hits with 42 strikeouts.
Lannom transfers to the squad in the middle of this school year from down the road at Freed Hardeman University. He is local to West Tennessee, growing up in Dyer and attending Gibson County High School.
